The National Yoga Olympiad, run by NCERT on behalf of the Ministry of Education, has been promoting yoga in schools since 2016 as a follow up to International Day of Yoga. The 2026 edition moves fully online so students across the country can take part from their own schools.
About the National Yoga Olympiad
The Olympiad aligns with the National Education Policy 2020 and aims to build an understanding of yogic practices among learners. It encourages physical, mental, social and emotional well being through asanas, pranayama, kriya, dhyana and, for senior students, bandha. The 2026 round is an online quiz that any eligible registered student can attempt.
Registration process online
- ✓Open the official portal at nyoncert.in.
- ✓Go to the student registration link for 2026.
- ✓Schools register through their affiliating body such as a State board, KVS, NVS or CBSE.
- ✓Fill in student details and the correct school stage.
- ✓Submit before the closing date and keep the login for the quiz days.
Note: The student registration window closed on 10 June 2026. The online quiz runs from 15 to 18 June 2026.
